Metallic staples are used to bind documents fast and cheap. Staples are available in many sizes and qualities. Staples are indicated with two numbers, seperated by a diagonal line. F.e. 24/6. The first number indicates the type of staple. The second number indicates the length of the teeth of the staple.
To know the bookbinding capacity of a staple you need to reduce the length of the staples teeth by 2-3 mm. In the case of the staple 24/6, you can bind a document with a maximum thickness of 3 mm.
