Polymerplates
Polymer plates are exposed to UV-light in such a way that the design hardens. The still soft polymer that wasn't exposed to the light is then washed away. In so doing a raised image remains, the so called "die", "kliché" or "mould". With this die you can start to print or do a blind embossing job or even print with hot stamping foils.
There are many kinds of polymer plates all suited for a particular job. They can be placed in many categories. The simplest split up is that polymer plates either have a film base or metal base (steel or aluminium). Film based polymer plates are primarily used in rotating presses (rotary). The steel base polymer plates are most often used with flat presses. There is also a base plate made of aluminum.
Futhermore polymerplates are split up depending on the hardness (durability) of the polymer and the thickness (height of the press).
